This week on the podcast, I am sharing an excerpt from my INVEST in Your Dreams group coaching program. Podcast host Linda Brand joined me and shared her thoughts on the power of  naming your strengths.

Confidence is not arrogance. This episode is packed with actionable inspiration!

If you’re ready to remember how worthy you are , own your strengths, and share your voice, here are 3 key takeaways:

  • Messy Action Builds Confidence: Confidence doesn’t come from perfection, but from courageous, messy action—in her case, starting the podcast and embracing every opportunity.
  • Consistency is Currency: Embracing consistency and taking necessary breaks—led to exponential growth for her podcast.
  • Your Voice Matters:Your unique story and experience are valuable—even if they reach just one person.

Authenticity trumps perfection, and every act of sharing moves others (and yourself) forward.

 Let's connect.

I am cheering for you!

I think confidence comes from taking messy action and doing things. Doing the thing- starting the podcast. I know we're all worthy. It's something to believe I am a child of God and I am worthy just for breathing. Today I have Linda Brand here thank you for being here to talk about the confidence that we all need to show up as we fully are, worthy and abundant. I think about the confidence that you showed up with when we first met. One of the first things you did was boldly put out the, here's something that I could do for all of you- here's the way you could help me. I think that comes from confidence, right? I think a lot of us walk around and we think that if we are too confident, we're arrogant Versus showing up as a hundred percent worthy, a hundred percent valuable. Could you tell me how did you find your way to confidence, of knowing that you are worthy and abundant and valuable? Oh, thank you for having me, first of all, and I just love you, Kelly. You've helped me a lot. Yeah. Honestly, confidence came from actions and to be truthful, I think surviving through so many things in my life. It's like there's nothing to be afraid of- everything's happened that could possibly happen. Ultimately I think confidence comes from taking messy action and doing things. Doing the thing and starting the podcast I think we're all worthy. I know we're all worthy just for breathing. It's something to know, but until you actually believe I am it and know that I'm here, a child of God and I am worthy just for breathing. And if none of us ever did another thing and never lifted another thing, we're still worthy. And the thing is we can know that we're worthy, but if we are carrying shame or we're carrying some guilt or something from the past, and identifying with that, that's where you feel like you're not worthy. I was there too. Where it's like, yeah, I'm open to receive. I'm open and worthy to receive. I would say this, but yet I was blocking my own abundance with old stories and beliefs. We're identifying with something, a mistake we made in the past or something, and that's what holds you back from feeling worthy. But we are all worthy. You're not your mistakes, you're not your past, you're not your failures. Right? We're just humans. We're just human trying to do the best we can every day. I think that energy is how you got to where you are. So first I want to celebrate you. We top two and a half percent podcast globally. I remember talking to you on a Zoom call when we discovered you were at 5%. The exponential growth sense then. How did you not give up podcasting? It's hard to not always know if it's reaching anybody and yet you've had the most amazing conversations even today, an incredible conversation before we got on. You made a decision to share from your heart the things that were important to you to connect with people in a real way. And now you're, again, two and a half percent top global podcast. How did you not give up? That's so amazing. Thank you. You are the reason. You are the person who told me I was top 5%. I literally did not know. So notice I wasn't paying attention and there it was. And how did I not give up? You know, I took breaks now and then. And what's wild, super wild is when I took a break, it shut up to two and a half percent. That is where the do less and receive more is true. The energy is true. We have to listen to that. I enjoyed it. Because I fell into real estate a career that's very challenging, even if you're passionate about it. I fell into that career and I had it for 30 years. And so I moved across the country four years ago and started a new life and started a coaching business. And then I started the podcast. And the podcast was easy for me. I felt like. I can do this. I'm a curious person. I ask questions. So it's easy, it's fun. So here I am, having fun and showing up. And you know what, sometimes I would have imposter syndrome and say, you know, who am I to do this? And then I would use EFT tapping or something else to move through that. But now it's very, it's very natural and I'm just enjoying it. And, um, if one person's life changes from hearing my episode, that's enough to keep going. And that's what I love about, like, you would send me a message. Oh, I heard your podcast. It was so good. And that's all we need. Like it's not a million dollars that we want. It's somebody texting you saying, I loved your podcast, right? Yeah. I have three adult daughters and my middle daughter's in sales and she's at a conference and a different friend of mine who I haven't met, I haven't met you in real life. I feel like we've known each other forever, but we still haven't connected in real life. So this is another friend that I haven't met in real life And she was putting on LinkedIn, Hey, I'm at this conference and I said, my daughter's at that conference. You should go connect. And so they did. And she said to my daughter, your mom changed my life using the Enneagram to help her understand herself, gave her this ability to name her strengths. And that's what this week is about. Can we name our strengths? So without any shame, right? Let's pull the shame off. One of the things I love to do is collaborate with people. I want to be somebody who's cheering other people on. I want to be generous. What are some of the strengths that you have that you can show up with confidence and be like, you know what? This is me and I love knowing that. I think that I am a curious person, and that's one of my strengths. Mm-hmm. Curiosity it's everything. Like I'm asking questions, I love asking questions, I love learning about people. I'm also authentic and that's a strength I am, I show up authentic and I try to show up as, real and honest and meaningful. Consistency is another one. Like I wasn't always consistent. That's something that I learned. I had a guest. I learned so from so many people on the podcast. I literally feel that my podcast is a vessel for good and it's a vessel to bring good to the world. It's a vessel for healing for myself. But I had someone on, and, uh, her husband's a very famous coach. Dan Mar is an author and a coach, and her name's Renee Warren. And she said, consistency is currency. She's like, if you want to lose weight, you have to be consistent. If you want to make more money, you have to be consistent. So consistency is currency. With the podcast, I was consistent for over two years. I was consistent. Every Monday there was a new episode. And then I got a little tired and I took a little break. And then it shot up more. And then I just am more flexible with it because I'm like, I don't have to do this every Monday. Right. It could be something different. I think that's amazing. And then another thing I've watched you do is-you have been very brave and reached out to people you want to have a conversation with. I know for a lot of women that's a very hard thing to do because we've been taught to make yourself small and don't be too much. And yet you say those conversations have been so life changing. Where does the confidence or the consistency come from to reach out to people and say, Hey, I'd love to have you on my podcast. Some of the people that I work with, they want a podcast and without that confidence, they might miss out on those conversations that could move them forward. So how did you get brave enough to do that first big ask? I think having been in a rejection business for 30 years, where I had to say, oh, do you know anyone who wants to buy or sell a house? It's nothing for me to ask you to be on a podcast Who wouldn't want to be on a podcast? You're just sharing with a new audience. Yeah, like of course you're gonna want to be on the podcast and if they don't want to, like, okay. I honestly, I had no issue asking and I rarely get a no. And I really think that our voices matter, and we tend to compare ourselves to people that are far ahead or on bigger platforms. But the truth is that your message doesn't need to reach millions of people. It just needs to reach one person. If it resonates with one person, that's all that matters. We have stories to share. In Judaism, tokuk alum is we're here to heal the world. Like we're here to help and make a difference. You know what I mean? And that's what the podcast does. It's free, right? People can listen to podcasts that have no money and they can change their freaking lives. You just told us a story about someone that you helped as a coach, and what a beautiful gift. That's amazing. I feel the same way. One of the things that I have been focused on from the very beginning, you know, I was a pastor who got my first life coach, and as soon as I met her, I said, this is what I want to do with the rest of my life. I think coaching comes down to three things. It's your thoughts. Creating the feelings and actions of your life. When your energy is aligned, you're able to do the work that is yours to do. And through self-awareness, I believe we can say the yeses and nos that are ours to say. Without self-awareness. I'm constantly wondering, why did I say that or do that? But now that I know, hey, you're an Enneagram two, you're a manifesting generator, you're gonna most likely do these things if you don't pay attention. Or you could pay attention. And check in with yourself. Is that a yes or is that a no? And my life has changed since I've learned how to do these things. You notice that you did something hard on repeat for so long that other things became easy. You went out and tried to sell homes, and so then when it was just this beautiful ask that we get to do when we're unlocking our voice, right? Sharing through a podcast or a blog is unlocking your voice. What a beautiful ask to say to somebody, would you like to share your story? Yet? It felt really hard without some thoughts like that. When I met you, you said, you know what? You're gonna be like this person and I'm gonna be like this person. We're not going to be them, but we can use them as an inspiration. One final thing about naming our strengths, one of the things you posted this week on Facebook or Instagram, it was like, I have fallen down more times- that's where this success came from. What practices do you have in place that help you stay in aligned energy to keep doing your important work?'cause life does happen and things do happen that make us feel like we've fallen down. What we want to do is get back up again. Is it prayer? Is it your faith? Like what helps you get back up again when things are hard? De definitely prayer and my faith that has, you know, strengthened over time. Knowing that God makes no junk. I studied Kabbalah. We have to be more like the creator. We have to be more like the son that's always giving, that's sharing, right? What we put out, we receive back. It's the universal law. Mm-hmm. What you give, you get back and it's also intentions right behind it. Um, I'm here to enjoy this life. I'm turning 58 years old, and I'm tired of living on other so society's terms and the programs and the beliefs. I am creating my own beliefs. My belief is that I get to have fun and make money. I get to do what I want and serve and give and make an impact. I'm seeing and witnessing many others doing it, which means I can do it too. Nobody's better than you. I'll never forget Brian Tracy, who I would listen to for 20 years in the car as a realtor, he would say, nobody's better than you. And it's true, and nobody's less than you, right? We're all. In this together. I'm trying to think of what else I do. I do affirmations, I do all kinds of things to support myself. I I use some Wayne Dyer affirmations that I say every single morning. Do you want to hear them? I'd love to hear them. I am enough. I choose love over fear in every situation today. I am grateful for this day and all its possibilities. Everything I need is already within me. I'm here to share my gifts with the world. I attract what I am, not what I want. I think it's beautiful that those are memorized When people forget that their voice matters. Their throat Chakra, isn't working anymore because they've suppressed this beautiful part of them. Right? I think back to the book of Genesis and it says that God said, let us make humans, men and women in our image, right? We are all these like image bearers, these reflectors of the sun, right? Your voice truly matters. That's something important for me to proclaim and I love that. I was able to do that with my three daughters and they go out and share What advice would you have for somebody who's just beginning a podcast and, they just get tired. It's editing and writing the notes up and it gets to be too much. And all of a sudden they're behind. They got sick for a couple days. And then they think, you know what, no one's listening to this anyway. What would you say to them to remind them their voice matters? I love that you said, take the breaks you need. Maybe go down to once a month, but don't give up. Find a way to keep going. What would you say to them to remind them that their voice matters? Was there anything that you heard yourself? I love listening to myself on my podcast. Like I'll record it and then three months later listening to one again and think, oh, I forgot that, or, I can't believe I said that. I don't even remember saying it. So I even learned for myself. I love podcasts. I listen to them almost all day long. But what would you say to that woman that's just beginning to start her podcast and she's wondering if her voice matters? Is there any advice you would give yourself five years ago before you began this, that your voice mattered? I would just say your voice matters because your experiences are unique and no one else has lived your life or learned the lessons you've learned. When you share your voice, you're giving other people permission to do so as well. We're not here to be perfect. And that's part of this, it's a lot of work. And this editing and all these things, it doesn't have to be. Mm-hmm. I think that you're trying to make it so perfect and nobody cares about perfection. No one's perfect. You, authenticity is the number one thing. Um, consistency beats talent every time and, showing up. And I mean, how many times when someone shows up and has no makeup on and you're like, yeah! I would say if maybe it's not for you, maybe podcasting isn't your thing. Like I wouldn't force it. But if you're enjoying it and then you just feel like, hmm, I don't know. Don't give up. Take breaks and keep going. Maybe you want to change the name of your podcast. Maybe you want to change the way you're doing things. I've pivoted many times. It used to be called Empowered the Podcast, and then it was abandoned to abundant for a very short time. And I then I got the download for Worthy and Abundant. It's been worthy and abundant a while. I've had so many different guests and I do solos, and it's just, it's powerful and it's fun. It's not free to us. We're putting in time and energy and all that. We're all one. If one person, if it changes one person's life, it's just a beautiful way to share your gifts with the world, share your voice with the world. Thank you so much.
