In this episode, listen in on a conversation I had with my friend Whitney Vance on  unlocking creativity and living in spiritual alignment.

Main Points

  • Use power thoughts for spiritual alignment: Power thoughts can guide us when we're feeling out of sync.
  • Embrace Your creativity: Whether it's through painting, baking, or trying a new path on your way home, creativity is all about exploring without boundaries. Whitney encourages us to reconnect with our inner child and find joy in simple, creative expressions.
  • Start creating: Spark creativity by jotting down power words and let yourself play with colors or collages. It's not about perfection; it's about expression and joy!

Let's connect.

I am cheering for you!

Hey friends, for the next few days, I'm gonna be sharing some of the messages I once preached as a pastor and some thoughts I've had with my friend Whitney Vance, about the power of power thoughts, whether they come from scripture or from thought leaders like Gabby Bernstein. I hope you like this week of new content. Welcome to the Live A Vibrant Life podcast. Each week I'll be here to encourage and equip you with the tools you need to grow in self-awareness and invest your best energy in your dreams and your purpose. I believe self-awareness changes everything. Let's get started. I'm Whitney Vance and I am Kelly Tibbitts We have a heart for, people truly aligning with who they were meant to be- what their purpose is, and dropping all the limiting beliefs in the baggage of society and what they tell us is normal. We Found a lot of overlap between manifesting and scripture. having conversations about those things is what we hope we get to do every week. We think that God through Christ and scripture still speaks to us today. We're learning in self-improvement and self-awareness, practices, and also meditative practices. I love the idea of working on my own intuition and my somatic body experience of like, which card do I wanna pick? It always feels like an exciting jolt when I turn it around, and it's exactly what I need for the day. The card said, when I live and act from a place of spiritual alignment, I can trust that everything is working out for me, even if I don't know when or how it will happen. And one of my favorite things about having a conversation with you is I don't have to explain that card. Yeah. What do you think about living from a place of spiritual alignment? Acting out from alignment instead of acting and making decisions when you're out of alignment? I think that's like huge, like if you are not aligned with yourself and you are not acting in alignment with yourself. I wonder how you're even acting in alignment if you're out of alignment. You are trying to hold the control. You're trying to do the fixing. You're trying to do all the whatever, and you're not trusting. If you can fully trust in who you are, who he is, what it is you're doing, what it is that you know.. It's going to work out because you are in alignment and in the right place That trust is going to be there when you are there. Right. I have a chiropractor and I'm always amazed when I go there and he knows where I'm out of alignment, but I haven't noticed I'm walking with that hip out of alignment. Mm-hmm. Because we stop paying attention. I think part of what you and I connect on is- it's important to have people in your life that can begin to notice when you're out of alignment. Yes. Oh, you know what? My thoughts are not aligned, and here's what I wanna be aligned to. I love the card. It says, I can trust that everything is working out for me. Here's some teachers out there that are helping us keep these power thoughts in our head, and we wanna be grounded in scripture. So in the book of Romans, in the amplified version, it says, we know with great confidence that God who is deeply concerned about us causes all things to work out together as a plan for good. He's working everything out as a plan so we can trust. The card says that everything is working out. You and I would say, that trust comes from this faith we have that God is deeply concerned about us, right? He's causing all the things to work for good. For me having like a metaphor or a picture to kind of look to is often helpful. And I think about like a spiral that's getting more and more narrow. It's almost like a cone and you go around and around and I feel like right now for me, life seems a little bit on the dark side of the moon. I don't see how all this can work out. Mm-hmm. And so that means with my sight, I can't figure it out, but my faith says I can trust in God and I can have hope that he is working all things together as a plan for good. Yeah. So for me, the card and the scripture connected yes. Okay. So here's the one I opened today. It said, each time I choose to tune into the spirit guidance and the highest truth show up for me, each time I choose to tune in to the spirit guidance of the highest truth shows up for me. Mm-hmm. What does it look like for you? In your very busy life to tune into the spirit. Yes, I have to get quiet. I cannot hear like what my soul is saying, what, what God is saying. I can't hear anything if I am not getting quiet at some point in time. That's kind of hard to do these days. Like I have kids and there's a lot of like social media and stuff that can attract your attention. If I cannot get quiet, I can't tune into the spirit. I can't tune into the message. Mission I can't receive if I can't get quiet. And so, I had to get quiet and I had to go in. Mm-hmm. I think what's really interesting, I was listening to somebody saying, you know, sometimes we have to start in movement. Mm-hmm. There's too much energy in our body to just force it to meditate. Intuitive people can, can trust themselves. I'm less somatically in my body and I'm more like in my feelings, so it takes a little bit more work. Sounds like you intuitively know when you need to be still and when you need to move. Well, yeah, and for me, I am a manifesting generator. I go all the time. I do multiple things at once. I am like the energizer bunny is what they call me. Whenever I'm getting quiet, I'm not necessarily just sitting and meditating in, you know, a still like place. I'm a creative, and so if I am doing watercolor. Like I'm moving, I'm doing, and it creates a quietness around me whenever I'm doing that. Hopefully we'll take these words and we'll create some art. Because for both of us, creativity is an important way for us to know if we're in alignment. Yes. Yep. So any person that might be listening might be thinking similar to how I did before I read the Artist's Way. Well, not an artist, I don't paint, I'm not a sculptor. I don't create pottery. How could somebody even begin to do art and use like a power word of the day or a power scripture of the day in a way that grows their creativity? What's a simple way for somebody to start, allowing the creativity to grow in their life again? I think so many people think oh, I better get my paint brushes and my paint out and on a canvas. But really creativity can come in so many ways. For instance, you can can bake a cake, and that's creativity. You could simply just choose to like take a left and go to a store on your way home instead of continuing to do the same route. But as far as art, I think the, the easiest, most basic way is to start with something like a word, right? Thrive. Let's just use thrive. Do whatever you're doing you can pick up crayons or whatever your kids have around. You can cut things out. You can, play. Don't put pressure on yourself to be making anything. Do whatever with the color, play with color, with that intention of thrive. Like a kid, go back to your, 5-year-old self and whatever you want to do, do it from a place of like, I'm just going to be a 5-year-old for right now. Let that just be what it is. That's what we're going to try to do. We both have at least one journal hanging around the house. Yeah. I got 10 or more. Don't judge. We're just going to put the word and maybe some Bible verse, maybe some other power thoughts. Maybe it'll be a collage. Maybe we'll just color with crayons. Yeah. And we're just going to take these very simple, small steps because we think that having a time set apart for creativity is good for our soul. Yeah, absolutely. And not to judge it. But to use it as a way to sort of remember. That person who gave me the board that said wisdom, I remember she handed it to me and I thought it was just so beautiful. I wanted to redo my whole house around it. I thought it was so beautiful. She said, you know, use your wisdom and when you don't want anymore, just throw it away. To her, there was no attachment to it. She made it for me. It was a gift. She wasn't expecting it to sit on my fireplace forever. Right. That's how I want to start this. Very simple If it's just three colored pens. Yeah. And a journal. Yeah. Or you know, I don't know if you ever do this. A lot of times I'll be listening to a podcast and I'll just write some notes on whatever piece of paper I have. Yeah. And then what I've been doing is putting them in some of my old journals, just gluing them down and making something from that. It doesn't have to be extravagant. No, it can just be like, you can just write a word and then, you know, trace it. Like, just keep tracing it. Just keep making lines. Make it easy. Just make it easy. We think that spending some time in creativity, spending some time being intentional. We think power thoughts from scripture are useful for our soul. Yeah. They're good reminders that we can trust, we can thrive. Yeah. Gratitude serves us. That's why we wanted to record a podcast.
