What's your desired legacy? What do you want to leave behind?

On the podcast this week, Coach Kelly shares how she wants to be an extraordinary, ordinary woman. Romans 12:1-2 encourages us to use our ordinary gifts and show up in a powerful way. Every gift is worth sharing.

Here’s a powerful thought to try on:  we can be extraordinary and ordinary at the same time.

In this age of social media, it can seem like our simple lives are not enough. We often question if we should be achieving more, making more money, or simply doing more.  How much “more” is enough?

Small actions and small words of encouragement matter more than you think. They can create a ripple effect of positivity in the world.  This week’s episode helps you recognize the importance of your unique gifts , your simple acts & words of kindness,  and allows you to know that they are worth sharing.

Main points:

  • Consider the wisdom it takes to know the difference between what you can and can’t control in your life.
  • What insight do you have that's moving you forward, that's helping you notice what's important to you?
  • Believe that your gift is worth sharing.
  • Use your ordinary gifts and show up in a powerful way.

Let's connect.

I am cheering for you!

I wanted to hop on and share a little bit from an Instagram live I did last week. One of the reasons I wanted to share with you is whenever I come across a power thought that I think can help me become more of who I want to be, an aligned thought that when repeated creates the kind of feelings that make me feel committed or determined or resilient, those feelings and thoughts, they move me to the actions that I want to take. The thought that I shared about was the idea that we can be extraordinary and ordinary at the very same time. I think living in the age of social media, surrounded by examples of what's possible, sometimes the simple lives we lead don't always seem to be enough, like, should we be making more money and doing more things? I don't know about you, but for me this year, the idea of living in aligned presence means living Being okay with what actually is. The Serenity Prayer says it this way, accept the things you can't change, but have the courage to change the things you can. And you need wisdom to know the difference. Wisdom came from the event that I share about going to a funeral where someone was spoken of as an extraordinary, ordinary woman. That power thought is something that I'd like to have on repeat this year. Because I talked about it for a few minutes on Instagram Live, I thought maybe you'd like to hear about it as the podcast this week. If you are thinking about 2025 and noticing that some of the hopes and dreams that you have, they're just not getting the attention that they need. I want to invite you to my coaching program. That's beginning on February 12th. We're going to be talking about how to be people who are peacefully productive, the narrow road of staying in aligned energy, whether it's peace or love or joy, whatever it is for you. And at the same time, being productive, doing our purpose filled work. That's going to be the goal over the next few weeks, and it's not too late to join us. Everything that I teach is recorded. You can listen at any time. We also meet live, because I think it's really important to be surrounded by other people who are doing the same work. If that's something that sounds like you'd like to give some time and attention to this year, I keep it really short. It's a lunch and learn on Wednesdays, and I keep the price affordable. You can find out more by sending me an email at coaching Kelly. Tibbetts. com. Go to either my Facebook or Instagram and send me a message, or you can go to my website, Kelly Tibbetts. com. And right at the top, you can click a button and we can have a 15 minute conversation and see if it's the right thing for you. So here's this week's Instagram live. On how to live a life where we are extraordinary, ordinary people. Welcome to the Live a Vibrant Life podcast. I'm life coach Kelly Tibbetts and each week I'll be here to encourage and equip you with the tools you need to grow in self awareness and invest your best energy in your dreams and your purpose. I believe self awareness changes everything. Let's get started. Before I was a life coach, I used to be a pastor and I've had the opportunity to do many beautiful sacraments. I've been able to dedicate children and do weddings. And one of the most honoring things I've been asked to do is funerals. Today I was able to do a funeral for a woman who was so kind and would go out of her way to greet me and say nice things whenever I had the opportunity to share a message. I just wanted to share a word that her daughter said at her funeral. It just reminded me that's who I want to be. I want to be a person who speaks life and love over, over other people. But what her daughter said that really struck with me is she said, my mom was an extraordinary, ordinary woman. I don't know about you, sometimes, especially through social media, you look around and it's like, what am I doing and why am I doing it? But I think each of us has something that we bring to the world. Sometimes it's specifically through our family and sometimes it's through friends or, you know, you never know where the ripple is going to be. What reminded me of an audio book by Marianne Edgar Boody who reminded Donald Trump on Inauguration Day to act justly, love mercy, walk humbly. In her book about learning how to be brave, she talked about the story of the petite prince. Maybe you already know the story. I didn't really know the story very well. The little prince had one rose to take care of and he took it for granted. When he left the planet, he realized how special his rose was. What's your rose today? What's your legacy? What's your Desire to leave behind? Getting to do the funeral for this woman today that is so clear now. I want to be an Extraordinary ordinary woman. I'm not going to be somebody who is influential outside of my circle, but for the people who I love and people who I care about and the people who are Leaning into what I say Doing things that make me uncomfortable, I think is important. I wanted to say, what phrase, word of the year, insight do you have that's moving you forward, that's helping you notice what's important to you? This verse from Deuteronomy says, the Lord bless you and keep you, make his face shine upon you and give you peace. It if you've ever heard Kari Jobe, she sings these words. it's just such a nice blessing Maybe you're like me in a season where people who we love deeply think really differently than we do about a lot of things. They think about politics differently. They think about local issues differently. They think about the food you eat differently or whatever. When you start to feel that angst and that frustration, I offer you this power thought. You get to bless. I've been praying a lot about this because it's a narrow road, isn't it? To say, I think that what we're doing is wrong. I want to show up as a person of peace and a person of love because there's nobody who learns when people speak rudely, right? That's one thing that this person that I did the funeral, I knew her for 20 years, never saw her speak disrespectfully, never saw her be rude. She's kind. She's loving. So what is my narrow road? I don't know. I want to decide that there are small words that I can say that can be encouraging. Maybe her daughter's word that encouraged me encourages you today. Be an extraordinary, ordinary person who goes out and uses your gift, whatever it is. I don't know what it is that you're called to do. I just wanted to remind you that your small step matters. Your rose matters. Your desire to be a person that brings light and love into the world, it matters. And you never know. Who the person is that's going to receive the verse you share or your art or a song you wrote. That was one of the most beautiful things today at the funeral. Her great grandchild got up and shared a song that they had written as their grandmother was passing. It was the most beautiful display of love to get up and share that so bravely. And so maybe 20 people will be touched by that song, but those 20 people then have a little bit more love and joy and peace in their heart and they go and share it. And maybe they're a little bit nicer to a cashier who's a little bit nicer to somebody. I think that might be one way that we can make the world, you know, the way that I think Christ meant when he said they came to give you an abundant life. I think an abundant life is not always easy, but it's like knowing that you're not alone, that there's people around you. And so if you're in social media still, which is hard to be, those people that you've decided to keep. You love them. My encouragement today is whether we agree or disagree about really, really important things, is there a way to get back to being a person of faith, a person of love, a person who can encourage one another to show up, be whatever it is that you know you were created to be. This year for 2025, I want to be in loving presence. That's my call. That is different from everybody else's call. There are people who can be really frustrated with me because I'm not saying what they would say, but that's their path. And I want to be someone who's encouraging them and who's giving them the tool. That's what my coaching program is about is here's a tool that can help you stay aligned to what's important to you. I didn't want to let the day go by and forget the power of hearing that daughter say about her mother. She was an extraordinary ordinary woman because I want to be that I want to use my ordinary gifts and show up in a powerful way, even when I feel incredibly embarrassed by it and believe that my small gift is worth sharing. So if that helps you today to believe in your small gift, then I did my job by showing up. I hope you have a beautiful day. Thank you for joining the live a vibrant life podcast.
